11-Year-Old Chinese Girl Gets Job Offer After Winning Coding Contest

An 11-year-old girl has just proved that getting a job offer in China is child’s play. Wan Haiyan from Shanghai received a job offer last week after winning a coding competition, AsiaOne.com reports.

The contest, hosted by Alibaba Group affiliate Ant Financial, was held in Hangzhou in China’s eastern Zhejiang province on Wednesday September 19. The participants, of which Wan was the youngest, were asked to make a mini-app in just eight minutes. Wan finished first, bagging herself a special job offer from Ant Financial CEO and chairman Jing Xiandong.

Despite her obvious skills, Wan only started coding a year ago after taking an online course with education platform Codemao. She has since created 18 games of her own.

"I want to learn artificial intelligence and use it to create more software that can possibly change people's lives," she said. "Jack Ma is my idol, and perhaps someday I will create the next Alibaba."

Go west and get legal patents so you can get rich, otherwise you will have to share your talent and money to be famous and respected. Be selfish with your talent, its about "YOU", screw everybody else. The person looking out for you is in the mirror.
