Good news for non-Chinese readers who get lost easily. Google Maps are working in China again!
While most longer-term residents have learned to deal with the sometimes frustratingly non-bilingual Baidu Maps, others with no knowledge of Chinese characters have been forced to prat around with VPNs to use Google services when lost.
No more must your phone’s battery been drained just to get where you’re going!
As of the time of writing, Google Maps is working again in China, albeit only from a web page.
The Google Maps app can still only be accessed when using a VPN.
Still, this is progress and certainly good news for expats living and working in China.
Happy Friday!
