China to Issue More Long-Term Visas and Green Cards to Foreigners

China to Issue More Long-Term Visas and Green Cards to Foreigners
Jul 18, 2019 By eChinacities.com

China is to open its doors to more skilled foreign workers and accept a greater number of permanent residents as it issues more long-term visas and green cards. The Ministry of Public Security announced on Wednesday that from next month, top talent from abroad will be able to apply for longer-term visas of 2-5 years and more China expats will be eligible for green cards.

Previously, only those that filled skill gaps or made “extraordinary contributions” to China could apply for permanent residency. Under the new rules, applicants must have held a job in China for four consecutive years, with at least six months of each year spent residing in China; their annual income must be six times higher than the average in the Chinese city in which they reside; and they must pay taxes of at least 20 percent.

The new policy will also make it easier for foreigners of Chinese ethnicity to apply for permanent residency status. They will need a doctoral degree and to have worked in a so-called “key development” industry in China for at least four years to qualify.

In addition, budding entrepreneurs who have graduated from top overseas universities in the last two years will be eligible for a two-year residence permit in order to start a business in China.

The new policies come off the back of successful trials in free trade pilot zones, national level new areas, and renovation reform model areas since 2015.

haha...that's funny. If anything it will be more difficult so all the so-called "English teachers" since most of them are not professional and are a nuisance to China and Chinese people.

I do hope that it is easy to get a working visa like in the middle east. I really plan to work in China as a Teacher, though.

So this is another way for China to steal technology from Western countries. Since many Western entrepreneurs see China as a big market, they will surely be tempted to put up businesses in China. The big tech Companies like Google were not able to resist this temptation. Then, in the future, China will become more powerful than they are today.

That sounds like a shitty deal to me....And this only applies to probably less than 5% of the foreigners who are in China. If you want to attract top talent from around the world, you need a better deal than that. That does not even sound like a good deal if it was for your average foreigner.

Let's give a little to gain a lot, if it fails to our advantage, we will give a little more, the parasite riding the host for all they can get short of death, let you recover, and ride you again, that's how you gain over 5000 years with as little effort as possible off the resources of the rest of the world. This does sound so familiar.
