Staff were surprised to find that someone had smashed their window and made off with several sex toys whilst leaving the shop’s computer and all the cash in the till behind.
The shopkeeper, Mr Jiao saw on the surveillance footage that around 11:45 on December 24, a man wearing a hat smashed the glass door of the shop and entered the shop and left after only three minutes.
When surveying the damage, Mr Jiao found that around 10 sex toys had been stolen, worth a total of around five or six thousand RMB.
The short amount of time the thief spent in the store and the specific nature of the items stolen made Mr Jiao think that the customer must have come to the store already, chosen his items then returned that night to steal them.
Mr Jiao didn’t know whether to laugh or cry, and mused that perhaps the man thought that the items were too expensive so he just stole them.
Police are currently investigating the incident.
