The National Tourism Bureau recently warned popular Chinese tourist spots not to raise their ticket prices. The Bureau, worried about rising ticket prices, called on the National Association of Chinese Scenic Tourist Attractions on August 28 to work to keep entrance costs low.
2,050 5A and 4A scenic tourist attractions have promised not to raise ticket prices. This accounts for about 80% of Chinese tourist spots.
Tourist spots in Shandong, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Sichuan, Hebei, Heilongjiang, Chongqing, Shanghai, and other provinces pledged to not raise ticket prices.
191 tourist spots in Shandong, including Qufu, Taisan, and Laoshan said they would not raise ticket prices.
169 spots in Jiangsu including the Suzhou canals, 132 in Zhejiang, and 116 in Sichuan promised not to raise prices as well.

China already has the most expensive entry prices for tourist attractions on the planet, the amounts they charge to go to scenic mountains such as those in Anhui, Shaanxi and Emei Shan is ridiculous. I refuse to travel anywhere in China now because I can't stand the domestic tourists and rip-off mentality, I've just had a few weeks in Japan with high standards, no bullshit and barely a Chinese person to be found. It was bliss.
