As one of the most important cities in southwest China, Chongqing has excellent national and international transport links. Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport has services to most major cities in China and to seven international destinations. Similarly, rail services to major Chinese cities are excellent. There is currently an express train running from Chongqing to Chengdu with a journey time of only two hours.
The network of highways which converge in Chongqing has ensured that long-distance bus travel is now a viable option for travelers on a budget. The larger highways include Chengdu-Chongqing, Chongqing-Fuling, Chongqing-Hechuan and Chongqing-Guiyang.
