About half of Americans believe that the Chinese economy is more powerful than the U.S. economy, despite China’s recent economic slowdown. In a Gallup poll published on Monday, 50 percent of American respondents believe that China is the world’s largest economy, and 37 percent believe that the United States is the world’s largest economy.
The polls was given from February 3 to February 7, and 1,021 surveys taken were randomly selected and analyzed.
Which country has the largest economy?
The United States Department of Commerce reported that America’s GDP was $17.35 trillion in 2014. China’s GDP was $9.74 trillion that same year (about 63.59 trillion Yuan) according to China’s National Bureau of Statistics.
China’s GDP may be about half of the United States’ but China is the world’s largest economy was it comes to purchasing power.

Many Americans see things from the main street level. What do they see? An education system that is broken, systemically. Infrastructure, that is crumbling, systemically. an ever growing gap between the haves, and the have nots, systemically (aka income and wealth inequality...jo blow baseball player or NBA athlete making millions a year to play a game, intl corps not paying a PENNY in taxes every year, etc.). and ever increasing police state, again its systemic/ i can go on and on, you get the idea folks. So, let me say...Why wouldnt Americans think otherwise.
