The Xiamen-Shenzhen railway line is estimated for completion at the end of December, 2013. When it opens, the line will cut travel time between the two cities to a mere three hours. The 502.4 km line departs from the new railway station in Xiamen and stops in Zhangzhou, Chaozhou, Shantou, Puning, Shanwei and Huizhou before arriving in Shenzhen.
According to reports, major ticket discounts will be offered when the line opens, with rumored ticket prices set at around 190 RMB for first class tickets and 160 RMB for second-class tickets. However, an official price table has yet to be announced.
