Qingdao Transport - Introduction

Qingdao is easily reachable by air, land and water. Qingdao Liuting International Airport lies just 23 kilometers outside the city center, and serves as a regional and international airport with 95 domestic flights and 13 international flights.

Qingdao is a bustling seaport that mainly serves Japan and Korea. Numerous passenger ferry lines connect Qingdao with port cities in China and South Korea.

The Jiaoji Railway traverses Qingdao, which connects the city with Lanzhou, Chengdu, Xi'an, Zhengzhou, Jinan and Jining. The city also runs direct rail services to and from Beijing.

Qingdao has many roads and expressways that extend from the city center. Its expressways connect Qingdao with Jinan and other nearby cities and provinces. The  long distance bus is also a good option for long distance travel in mainland China. Unlike many other cities in China, Qingdao's city roads follow the contours of the landscape. These roads are easily traveled by bus, taxi and car; and for those who dare – bicycle.
