On April 7, the Shanghai Daily published a story that exposed an apparent sex and drug party that occurred in Sanya during the Hainan Rendez-Voux Lifestyle and Yacht Show.

The party allegedly—that’s the key word here—involved many high-profile Chinese celebs and models who engaged in mass paid orgies, with one model earning 600,000 RMB over three evenings, and over 2,000 condoms being used.

A number of the celebrities allegedly involved have since profusely denied that the paid sex party even occurred—two celebrities posted on Weibo proof that they were “too rich to need to sell sex.”

Guo Meimei, the infamous blogger known for showing off her wealth (and tarnishing the image of the Red Cross Society of China), posted a photos of herself holding casino chips worth 5 million RMB, in an unusual attempt to prove that such scandals were beneath her. Fellow celeb Chen Junyu went one step further to rebuke the accusations, posting a photo on Weibo that showed his apparent bank balance: an amount of over 3.7 billion RMB.

Netizens have since expressed their disgust at the actions of these two, with many highlighting the blatant wealth gaps between China’s rich elite and ordinary people, which left one netizen to state: “socialism my ass.”

Bragging is what they do , I have students who tell me how rich they are , Chinese little douchebags. China has not learn from history , the rich exploited China and behave like this before , then were defeated by the poor and ran to Taiwan. China's bubble will burst!
