Yinchuan is a transport hub for Ningxia and the surrounding areas. It is the center of a network of internal airlines and the train station is a gateway to many other large Chinese cities.

The highways into Yinchuan make car hire or long-distance bus travel convenient options for travelers. National Highway 109 connects Yinchuan with Beijing through Inner Mongolia and connects it to Tibet through Qinghai and Gansu; National Highway 110 connects it with Beijing; other roads such as National Highway 211 (Yinchuan-Xi'an), 307 (Yinchuan-Hebei Province), Lanzhou-Yinchuan, Qingdao-Yinchuan, and the Fuzhou-Yinchuan expressway ensure that most popular destinations within China are easily reached by road.
