Chinese Aunties Pop a Squat, Chow Down on Instant Noodles outside Gucci

Chinese Aunties Pop a Squat, Chow Down on Instant Noodles outside Gucci
Feb 11, 2015 By eChinacities.com

Photographs of Chinese Ayi’s chowing down on instant noodles outside one of the world’s most renowned fashion houses have been doing the rounds on the internet.

The picture was snapped in Florence and uploaded by an Italian web user, causing users to question why people who are rich enough to travel abroad and shop at Gucci are eating instant noodles in the street.

Several Chinese netizens also chimed in, angrily declaring that the middle aged ladies were causing China to lose face abroad, again.

Others said that they understand the aunties’ point of view and that they probably couldn’t handle the Italian food (because Italian food is famously disgusting).

This topic is particularly sensitive among Chinese netizens as bad Chinese tourist behaviour abroad has attracted global headlines in recent months. Other incidents include Chinese tourists getting banned from a temple in Thailand for defecating in urinals and stealing toilet paper: incidents that were meticulously and almost gleefully reported by Hong Kong media.

@Eorthisio"...the educated class guardians of the thousand years old Chinese culture all left for Taiwan or elsewhere..." Nailed it. Most left for Taiwan and Hong Kong. Being connected by land, Hong Kong was the easiest to relocate to (walked across from Shenzhen, took the train, or boat if they were from Beijing, Shanghai,...etc) thus the majority of business people and scholars went there. Hong Kong then was a British colony thus the ones with heavy political ties, primarily the majority of the KuoManTang ("National People Party") who wanted to continue the real china went to Taiwan. After that china closed the door to the world, same case with communist Russia, Cuba and North Korea. That was the bamboo curtain; the equivalent of the iron curtain in Europe. Practically every Hong Konger and Taiwanese knew/know the filth of mainland chinese, so did/do traditional chinese folks all over Asia, be they Singaporeans, Malaysian, Thails...etc. A few view them with pity, the majority with disdain especially these days. If you know anything about channeling (no arguement can substitute life experience, especially in this area), a key feature of Taoism, here is a little story. An old channeler told me (in person) about how he and his family escaped from china. He said, "Midnight, I suddenly received a message from above, Master Lao Tsu and Kwan Yin (Mother Mary version of the East) specifically. They said, 'Certainty now. No more hesitation. PACK UP RIGHT NOW, LEAVE EARLY in the morning. Go and carry on our tradition in Hong Kong'. That's how we escaped". As a channeler of course he knew the authenticity of the message. He and his family left, went to Macau fist and then Hong Kong. That's how they escaped. The day after they left, china closed its border. The rats were trapped. What does that tell you? EVEN THE SPIRIT LEFT. That was the day the wheat was separated from the chaff. The China you see now is a spiritual wasteland, a garbage dump. Any seasoned expat can see that. You are also right about the holidays and traditional chinese festivals, mainlanders didn't have an inkling of what they were about (perhaps except they were BRIBES paying/collecting seasons). Hell, they celebrated none of them until a couple of years ago! But to them you can bet it is merely another bribing opportunity, that's all. The majority of them know very little about chinese religion, history, culture, traditions, values, let alone practice them. This is a big disappointment and shock for many coming to china, curious about traditional chinese culture, from kung fu to cuisine to confucianism to fung shui. Among those are young chinese born elsewhere to do some root seeking. Ooops, only shits here! LOL Most of what you can find is the leftover garbage CCP failed to destroy, which is next to nil. If ancient structures like temples or forbidden city is still standing, the essence is gone. NO SUBSTANCE. What's the NUMBER ONE word about china that comes to your mind? FAKE. The China you see today is a FAKE CHINA! The mainlanders you see today are FAKE CHINESE! The character 'love' says it all. Simplified chinese which mainlanders use doesn't have the heart character inside. How the hell do you love without a heart? Yeah right, with lust, cost-benefit analysis, and manipulations, i.e. with the mind which knows nothing about love. The collective subconscious is very powerful. The 'love' character is its way of telling the world, for those with the eyes to see, what mainlanders en masse is all about......

btw, if you want to see REAL, TOP quality china antiques go to Taipei, Taiwan. The KMT took with them the BEST, authentic chinese antiques. Who wouldn't? You want to see what REAL, top quality jade ancient emperors/queens worn looks like? Go to the National Palace Museum in Taipei, don't waste your time with Forbidden City (Beijing). How many crates were initially shipped out of Beijing? 13,491. How many ended up in Taipei? 2,972. Why? Not enough time. Result? Only the BEST of the bests were shipped out. After visiting both museums I can testify this statement is correct. '...The Chinese Civil War resumed following the surrender of the Japanese, ultimately resulting in Generalissimo Chiang Kai-shek's decision to evacuate the arts to Taiwan. When the fighting worsened in 1948 between the Communist and Nationalist armies, the Palace Museum and other five institutions made the decision to send some of the most prized items to Taiwan....' The jade artifacts I saw in Beijing were an eyesore compared to the ones in Taiwan's National Palace Museum. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Palace_Museum

I'm afraid I have to disagree with you on this, there are many Chinese living in CCP's culture but there are still many other Chinese lives as real Chinese. I don't think changes means the nation has abandoned their inheritance as a nation, Japanese was westernized and modernized, so was Korean, they learned how to improve to the modern civilizations. China is doing the same. You don't know a fact that many Chinese hate CCP, hate them deeply for their binds of minds, of free thinking and action. There are many critics blamed CCP government for simplifying characters but most of Chinese favored the change, why? Traditional Chinese are just too complicated and difficult to learn, write and use in practical. It belonged high class in ancient China, even in the Republic of China, it belonged to elites. Simplified Chinese gave chances to poor classes, they get a chance to learn, to improve, to become educated. Every nation had a past, from poor peasants to so called taste high class. Once they crawled in muds, naked and fucking in wild, there are always thieves, rapers and many other dirty men in different countries, why get so biased when talking about Chinese? So this is not justice saying, just prejudice.

Italian cuisine is one of the best in the world. Far more tasty and healthy than some of the rubbish I see served here in what should be high-end restaurants. This is more a case of third world peasant mentality with a large bank balance. As Puffudder said you can't buy class. These women were obviously out of school the day they held that class.

They think since they can afford to check-in a 5 star hotel and urinate into the water bottle of their room (straight from the horse's mouth; the cleaning maids), and/or settle the bill after eating like a pig at 5 star restaurants, they've made it, they have class. lol

On the surface the photo looks innocent enough. If you had talked to these 'people' you would know many were fully aware of their deeds were an eyesore but on purpose did them to disgrace places they had eyed with envy and hatred for decades. Japanese, Taiwanese, Hong Kongers, South Koreans, Singaporeans, .... all suffered financial hardships once but practically none of them had these sick psyches when their living standards improved. What these low lives are cooking inside their filthy, violent, criminal minds are far more vile than outside. Not so long ago they were called the Sick of the East (an understatement imo). They still are. And they are doing an excellent job proving how right those who call them that were/are.
