Ready for a rocking Christmas or just want a few options to usher in the cold weather and the season of giving (or shopping)? Here is a shortlist of 10 Christmas events in Beijing this month. From caroling to skiing, to a Christmas feast at the Great Wall it is sure to be a merry Christmas and happy holidays for all.

1) Dulwich Christmas FairView In Map
Even if you don't have kids, what's more spirited than celebrating with children at Dulwich while they carol and dramatize your favorite Christmas stories, and all for charity? Mulled wine and hot chocolate will be served, as well as vendors selling gifts, arts and crafts and mince pies provided by Friends of Dulwich. All proceeds will be donated to charity.

2) Hutong Winter Fayre View In Map
The Hutong continues its tradition of hosting Beijing’s last Christmas Bazaar of the year. To celebrate the holiday season they'll have a “warm-winter” theme and will be serving “piping hot cups of vin brulé.” And with Christmas just around the corner, you can pick up that rare find for your friends and loved ones.

3) Beijing SantaCon
Want to feel connected to the rest of the world? If yes, this is the Beijing Christmas event for you with cities across the globe having embraced Santacon as the way to celebrate Christmas and drink! As the website says, SantaCon is a “non-commercial, non-political, non-religious and non-sensical Santa Claus convention celebrating cheer, goodwill, and fun”. Play Santa for a day all over Beijing and see who you would bring gifts to this year.

4) Beijing Homebrewing Festival View In Map
After your morning at the Winter Fayre, and early afternoon playing Santa around Beijing, why not make your way over to Nbeer Pub for the Beijing Homebrewing Festival. Over 30 homebrewers gather to share over 50 different homebrews. What a great day December 14 will prove to be!

5) Beatlemania Christmas
Four of the cities favorite sons, The Beijing Beatles, will be celebrating Christmas at their home away from home, Temple Bar, on December 15. The famous British quartet are majestic in their reproduction of the band from Liverpool and are tireless in their need to entertain the enthusiastic crowd. So bring your 60s vibe to Temple Bar for a hard day’s night.

6) NCPA Production of Bizet's opera Carmen
Celebrating the holidays does not always mean having a Christmas theme. It often serves as the best excuse possible to indulge in cultural events and performances like the opera. Get dressed up and head to the National Center for Performing Arts this season for a night at the opera.

7) Wanlong Ski Resort Christmas Getaway View In Map
Four nights, 3 days of skiing mania. Located 7 miles from Wanlong mountain this is just the thing if you need to get away from Beijing for a bit. 8) Christmas at the Great WallView In Map
Take some of the stress out of Christmas this year and head to the The Schoolhouse near Mutianyu. They are offering up stays in one of their guest houses. You can cook your own dinner or join in on their annual Christmas Eve feast. Later in the evening there will be much caroling and merriment. Free hot chocolate and Christmas goodies for all carolers. Christmas dinner starts at 19:00 and Christmas caroling begins at 21:00. There will be a special school bus service available.

As Christmas events in Beijing go, this is the one for all those who just want to make Christmas a really good night out. Maybe Mars, the indispensable music label brings the party to Yugong Yishan once again, hosting a raging concert series featuring Carsick Cars, AV Okubo, Duck Fight Goose and Birdstriking with tons of energy (and, rumor has it, unreleased tunes).
