1) Swiss Kiss Festival "Going on a Trip," at HazeView In Map
Swiss Kiss presents a two-day festival of house and techno music at Haze with some of the hottest DJs and electronic music artists on the scene. The two-day extravaganza on August 3 and 4 will feature a live performance by Pet Conspiracy and electronic music from Yang Bing, Zhang Youdai, Donald Summer and Kaize on day one; the second day will feature Mickey Zhang, Weng Weng, Maelstorm, Dirty Bird and Sound Pellegrino.

2) Marketa Irglova at Yugong YishanView In Map
Marketa Irglova, who shot to fame for her leading role in Once, will perform at Yugong Yishan on August 17. Irglova is a 23 year old 2006 Academy Award winner who is also a renowned singer. Her highly personal and emotional album "Anar" was released in 2011, and she is currently touring China with her band. Irglova will give a highly anticipated performance in Beijing where she will share her journeys and her experiences with Once through her songs.

3) Saturday Summer 2012 New Music Showcase at 2KolegasView In Map
The Beijinger is organizing ‘New Music Showcase', which as the name suggests, will feature a long, list of talented, new bands.  There'll also be free flowing beer from 16:00 onwards, lots of lamb skewers to munch on, and of course plenty of awesome live music. 4) CocoRosie at Yugong YishanView In Map
CocoRosie, a well-known sister "freak folk" duo, are back at Yugong Yishan on August 21. The sisters' music is a mix of pop, blues, opera, electronic and hip hop with the odd beat boxer or toy noise maker in the background. betterPropaganda put the group at number 16 on its list of most influential musicians of the decade. CocoRosie's music has been used in advertisements by Kenzo Amour and Escada, and three of their songs ("Brazilian Sun," "Not for Sale," and "Good Friday,") were used in Miuccia Prada's spring runway show.

Peaches is back!

5) Peaches at Yugong YishanView In Map
Yugong Yishan presents Peaches, a Canadian electronic musician and DJ who has worked and performed with many legendary artists, including Joan Jett, Pink, Iggy Pop, Marilyn Manson, Karen O (from the Yeah Yeah Yeahs), The Flaming Lips, Queens of the Stone Age and Garbage. Iggy Pop even covered the Peaches song, "Rock Show," on his album "Skull Ring." She has remixed for artists including Daft Punk, Basement Jaxx, YokoOno, The Bird and the Bee, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Queens of the Stone Age and LadyHawke. Her songs have been featured in TV and movie soundtracks, most notably in the movies "Mean Girls," "Lost in Translation," and in the shows "The L Word," "Gossip Girl," "WhipIt," "Ugly Betty," and "The Vampire Diaries." Avril Lavigne, Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera and Pink have all named Peaches as one of their musical influences. 6) Lantern Club Anniversary Party View In Map
It's Lantern's second anniversary, and the club that has been bringing the underground dance music for two years is throwing down. The two-day birthday celebration will feature big names in the Beijing dance music scene, including Weng Weng, Elvis T, X.L.F., OuYang and ShenYue.

7) Planet Festival at 2KolegasView In Map
Electronic label Passphrase Agentur presents a two-day electronic festival at 2 Kolegas on August 25 and 26. The festival will feature big names in electronic music, including X.L.F, Baifan, Tobias Patrick and Metro Tokyo, with performances set to take place on two separate stages (one inside the venue, and one on the lawn). Come during the day to play with water guns, hop in the mini pool and jump on the trampoline to the house beats of your favorite electronic artists!
