The rain that has been battering many parts of south China over the past few days has left some areas flooded, including the north campus of the South China University of Technology. For some it’s been a pretty devastating affair; however Xie, student at the college, took the opportunity to indulge in a spot of fishing.

On June 4, Xie spotted something long and slivery in the flooded path near his school. After heading on over to investigate, Xie managed to pluck out the object from the murky water, which turned to be a huge catfish weighing 7.5kg.

Xie later uploaded the photo of him and the fish onto Weibo, with many netizens expressing amazement and envy. Xie later stated that he and his friends enjoyed a feast that evening that lasted two hours.
