The owner of the place majored in interior design and all the decorations in the bar have been personally designed by him. All of the wood material used was been transported from Shangri-La to Kunming. The tall and wide stone arches definitely give this place an interesting gothic feel and the view over the lake is gorgeous. The owner puts together exciting live performances every night – offering a varied selection from classic Chinese songs to jazz music. Mondays to Fridays are usually quieter, but be sure to call and reserve a seat if you're planning on going during the weekend.

It started out as a teahouse, selling Taiwanese-style black tea, but now several branches have been opened in Kunming. The restaurant is decorated like a fashion show venue, where guests are led to their seats through a large catwalk-like stage and there is even an open kitchen, to see your food made fresh. Wild Bees Bar is a venue that is purely about music and booze. It's got an acoustic guitar and pictures depicting different musicians hanging on the wall – everything about the venue revolves around music. The place is a bit small in size but it's still got a little stage tucked away in the middle. The owner of the place, Mr. Zhou, is a fine guitarist, and he performs every night for the guests; you can even request songs for him to play or jump on stage to show off your music making skills. Occasionally, there are also guest performers invited to put on solos at the venue. With its dimmed lights, intimate atmosphere and soft music, this music bar is definitely a little gem that you wouldn't want to pass up visiting.
